Jammu, Dec 14: A RTI has revealed that University of Jammu cancelled the interview of shortlisted candidates for the post of Assistant Registrars after the name of the daughter of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor of the varsity didn't figure in the shortlist. Information obtained under RTI has revealed that VC's daughter was an aspirant for the post of AR, but her name did not figure in the list of shortlisted candidate. " The VC's daughter Roll number 83 was on 12th position in merit list and she secured 130 marks in total", the RTI reveals. According information available with Early Times 19 candidates were shortlisted for post of ARs for main campus, Bhaderwah and Kathua campuses but short listed candidates were not called for the final interview. "Hashmat Abass, Inzar Ahmed, Azmit Begum, Shash Pal Singh and Stanzin Khewang were among the six candidates shortlisted for the post of ARs at main campus. Ambika Sambyal, Goutam Saini, Rohit Gupta, Anshu Sharma, Anshu Sharma, Ankush Kumar and Saurabh Saraf among six candidates shortlisted for the post of ARs for Bhaderwah Campus. Ambika Sambyal, Parshotam Sharma, Ankush Kumar, Shailender Slathia, Pankaj Khajuria, Deepak Gupta and R L Kaith were among seven candidates selected for post of AR for Kathua Campus", information provided by JU under RTI reads. Astonishingly, the matter of cancellation of interview for shortlisted candidates was not taken up with statuary bodies like JU Council and JU Syndicate. In response to query, please mention the reasons for cancellation of the whole procedure of appointment of ARs, the university has provided a hand written note without mentioning name of officers and professors who have signed it. "The committee after threadbare deliberations and taking into consideration the legal opinion as well as the standing instructions of university authorities all positions will be re-advertised if not filled within two years," a hand written note provided by JU signed by six persons reads. |
