Ajaz Jan criticizes PDP-BJP for implementing NFSA | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 14 : Provincial President Youth National Conference Ajaz Jan on Monday criticized the PDP-BJP Government's move to implement National Food Security Act in Jammu and Kashmir, saying this will be detrimental to the interests of huge chunk of the state population. Addressing workers at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon, Jan asked the coalition to desist from anti-people policies and rather concentrate on development and solving their problems. He said that the coalition government was showing immense degree of insensitivity by ignoring the urges and aspirations of the people. The past over nine months' performance stands testimony to the fact that this dispensation has failed on all fronts and was therefore indulging in diversionary tactics, he added. He urged the government as also Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for replacing the one-engine helicopters in Katra, which were operating to Sanjichat, saying the safety of the pilgrims cannot be put to jeopardy. He referred to the recent heli-crash and said that this should serve as eye opener for all the stakeholders to go for foolproof safety measures. He said the Yatra constitutes a major component to the local economy and since the people from all over the country and even abroad were thronging 24X7, the government and the Board is required to take all necessary steps for safety and comfort of the pilgrims. He also expressed concern over the scarcity of rations at CAPD outlets besides bad condition of roads in the rural and far-flung areas. He said these are going to cause problems to the people during the coming winter days. Urging the workers to fan out in their respective areas, Jan stressed the need for highlighting the problems faced to the people and seeking their redressal by taking up these at appropriate levels. Among those who spoke on the occasion included Provincial Vice President National Conference Anil Dhar besides youth leaders Munshi Khan, Manzoor Mire, Rohit Kerni, District President, Sunil Turkey, Rahul Thapa, Aman Cheema, Tejinder Pal, Nitish Goswami, Riaz Malik, Yashuvardhan Singh and Rohit Bali. |
