Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: Intensifying its drive against unauthorised constructions, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today demolished shops raised illegally in Nanak Nagar belt of the city amids protest. A team of JMC officials led by R S Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A) Municipal Corporation, Jammu, demolished the unauthorised shops raised by one Rupinder Singh in Nanak Nagar, a JMC officer said. Initially, the team faced a tough resistance from the violator and his accomplices but with the intervention by the police force from Gandhi Nagar police station the task was accomplished, he said. The SHO of Gandhi Nagar police station and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, South were also present on the spot, the officer said. The Corporation appealed to the public to seek proper permissions and get building plans approved before starting any construction work, the Officer added. |
