Sources informed Early Times that PHC Thial has sanctioned strength of four doctors including three Assistant Surgeons, a Dental Surgeon and an ISM Doctor but surprising ISM doctor manning the health institutions rest of all three posts have been falling vacant. "This PHC has no laboratory services while medicines are also found missing, so how the government has given the status of PHC to this "Dispensary", he said, adding that even for a minor ache in teeth, one has to cover 20 km by bus to reach Majalta. They further said that they initially visit PHC Thial where a Nurse was present in PHC, refer him to district hospital. Being a poor people, we don't have money to visit several health care institutions. If government has established the health institution then it's the responsibility of government to provide adequate manpower. At the time of inauguration politician claims that this hospital which would benefit over 10 villages with population of about 20,000 souls but till date they didn't provide sufficient staff to this health institution.
"Politician treated them as only their voters and during every election time, they came for votes but never did any work for welfare of masses", they rued. On one hand government claimed that Primary Health Centers should have 24 hour emergency services but PHC Thial has no doctor's available, so what a person will do with the building.
An ISM doctor along with two paramedical staff has been rendering services in PHC Thial, where there is no manpower and medicines available, and for a simple test like X-Ray or ultrasound, people have to reach district hospital or GMC Jammu. Repeated calls by this Jurno to Chief Medical Officer Udhampur he didn't respond the phone calls.
