Sunderbani, Dec 15: The high-handedness of village authorities has left the common men gasping for their piece of mind as unscrupulous elements are allegedly hell bent to damage the gullible villagers property leaving them high and dry.
As per a case percolating down here from village Nala Makol , Thumba, a gram sevak namely Thoru Ram , using his influential powers has started the construction of the road in the village that bisects the land owned by one Tirath Ram. Tirath Ram has alleged that since Rural Development Department has stopped the construction of roads, it the high handedness of village authorities who have taken up the illegal work of construction by their influential means and has turned out to be harassment for the locals. It is pertinent to mention that since Thoru Ram, the influential gram sevak is constructing the road in the said village, he has trespassed the land belonging to one Tirath Ramm, aged 90 who is blind also and not able to upkeep his land records. When asked as to how he can trespass into the domain of the land belonging to the common man , Thoru Ram gave a very inconsiderate answer saying that he damn cares two hoots for anybody. "What can the vigilance departments do? You go for 50 such vigilance cases and I care two hoots for the vigilance, "said Thoru Ram who earlier denied for having any such exercise conducted by his labour . The labour of Thoru Ram also alleged to have roughed up Tirath Ram when he tried to stop the people infringing in his domain. "Already I have given many of the lands to the state government, but now I do not want any more infringements. I stopped the labour of Thoru Ram and they pounced upon me," said Tirath Ram. SHO Sunderbani when contacted admitted that Tirath Ram had lodged a complaint in the police station and added that inquest proceedings have been initiated against Tirath Ram. BDO Sunder Bani Sahil Jandiyal refused to take up the call. Even the Rural Development minister Abdiul Haq Khan despite many calls remained busy on the phone and did not take the call. However, Range office Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar gave a very considerate audience to the grievance of Tirath Ram and assured quick action against the culprits.
"I will ensure that no trespassing or infringement occurs in the private land owned by the individuals," said Vinod Kumar. It is pertinent to mention that such land falls under the purview of forest area and hence Range Officer Vinod Kumar assurance to Tirath Ram has come as a solace after having been received setback from all quarters.
