Embezzlement in JAKFED SVC slams JAKFED MD for non-compliance 12/15/2015 11:11:27 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: The state vigilance commission (SVC) has directed JAKFED Managing Director to appear personally before it on the next date of hearing in a case of embezzlement and misappropriation of the government money by the alleged falsifying of records and wrong entries in account books. Earlier, SVC, while proceeding on the complaint against JAKFED management regarding alleged embezzlement running into crores and other misdeeds, called for response from MD JAKFED on each of the allegations. Despite numerous reminders, he neither submitted the factual record nor bothered to appear personally as was ordered by the commission. Instead counsel for JAKFED sought adjournments of the case a number of times on one or the other pretext, thereby trying to block the proceedings against those responsible for causing huge loss to the state exchequer. The commission, while taking a serious note of such a lackadaisical approachadopted by the MD in this significant matter, inter-alia observed that these circumstances prima-facie revealed that MD JAKFED was interested in shielding corrupt officials.
