JAMMU, Dec 15: Expressing its concern over the incident at Kishtwar in which a temple reported to be damaged which led to communal tension in the area, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) today demanded that the government should immediately identify the culprits and take stern action against them and do not allow them to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the state. In a meeting held held here today at PCC HQ. Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu under the chairmanship of President PCC Ghulam Ahmed Mir, which was attended by senior functionaries of the party, the participants expressed serious concern over the alleged incident adding that it has created resentment amongst the members of minority community which led to tension in the area. The meeting appealed to the people to maintain peace and communal harmony at all costs in order to defeat the designs of mischievous elements. The meeting reviewed overall situation prevailing in the state and the ongoing problems of people of different sections of society with regard to ration, power, health, education and unemployment, who are suffering for wrong policies of the government. It was decided in the meeting to expose the government for its anti people policies in order to seek justice for the poor and downtrodden sections of the society. Senior Vice President Sham Lal Sharma; Vice Presidents Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan, General Secretaries Shabir Ahmed Khan, Abdul Majid Wani, Thakur Balwan Singh, Manjit Singh, Vikram Malhotra and Manmohan Singh were among those who attended the meeting. |
