Kishtwar, Dec 15: In a shocking incident, Kishtwar police on Monday booked an army personal for putting the house of his father on fire after the duo had a verbal duel over some issue in remote Saroor area of Drabshala in the district.
Police sources said Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Touseef Ahmed received a telephonic information about the fire incident in Goud Saroor area falling under police post Drabshalla and deputed a police party led by SI Vishwajeet to the spot, but the two-storey house could not be prevented from burning. After reaching the spot, police party and the fire tender operator, with the help of locals, tried their best to put off the flames, but the fire was so intense that it engulfed the major portion of the house in no time.
Sources said during preliminary investigation, it became known that army jawan Subash Chander of Goud Saroor, who had some fight with his father Mohan Lal over some issue, had put the house on fire and escaped from the spot. After receiving the complaint from Mohan Lal, police registered an FIR No 216/2015 under sections 436 and 323 of RPC against Subash Chander who was arrested this morning. |
