National level Competition Concludes 12/16/2015 12:22:49 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15 : National level Women Competition, Group III Athletics, Badminton and Table Tennis concluded here today. On the valedictory function, the final event of 4x100 metre relay race was held which Punjab Won while as Tamil Nadu and Delhi secured 2nd and 3rdpositions respectively. The sports meet was organised by Directorate of Youth Services and Sports under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA). Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Jahangir Mir was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas DIG BSF Frontier Headquarters Mohan Mehta was the Guest of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, the Director General said that Government is committed to boost talent in sports among school children in the state. He said, Minister for Sports Molvi Imran Raza Ansari is taking keen interest in channelizing such talent in youth both in rural and urban areas. The Director General said that the department is committed to take forward Central Government's initiative under 'Beti Bachao Beti Padao' slogan and is encouraging talented girls across the state. Jahangir Mir also mentioned that the Department has been able to achieve participation of as many as 2 lakh students in different sports and athletics at various levels throughout the state and also ensured state's participation in 44 sporting events.
