JK Thinkers Forum holds meet, deliberates upon KPs issues

Jammu, Dec 15 : JK Thinkers Forum organized an interactive programme of Kashmiri Migrant Organizations at Jammu under the chairmanship of Prof A N Sadhu in which issues pertaining to exiled community were discussed in threadbare. Kuldeep Pandita, Convener of the Forum briefed the gathering about agenda for the programme which included the issue of permanent rehabilitation of the migrants in a time-bound manner; growing trend of inter-caste and inter-state marriages in the community; hardships in respect of issuance of RBA certificates, inclusion of newly married and new born babies, deletions and other related issues connected with the relief organization; constitution of apex body parallel to that of the govt. to deliberate upon the issues of the migrants facing at Jammu and elsewhere.
Comrade M L Raina, a prominent social activist deliberated upon the short-term problems of the community concerning the issuance of RBA certificates, inclusions/deletions, providing of ration stuffs, availability of medical facilities, potable drinking water etc. V K Khaskari, a prominent face of AIKS expressed that minority status be given to Kashmir Pandit Community to enable it to avail all the benefits under its ambit as applicable to other minorities in the country. Rakesh Koul from Sampooran Kashmiri Samaj stressed that sustained door to door awareness campaign regarding problems and social evils need to be launched to involve more and more community members in this process. TN Panidta, president Muthi Camp Phase-II called community to get united to fight for their rights. B L Bhat, former MLC and National Conference leader said that one time settlement and giving minority status to the community will resolve the difficulties and hardships of the community. social activist Bihari Lal Dhar accused the community leadership for its present plight and appealed it to leave personal egos for the sake of the community betterment while P L Raina and Kuldeep Raina from Prabandhak Committee Manzgam (Kulgam) stressed that community leadership need to take a lead to provide constant counseling to our youth at various places including Pune, Bangalore and elsewhere about their age-old traditions, culture and ethos, which can to some extent restrict the trend f inter-caste and inter-state marriages. M K Yogi, President Minority Cell(NC) in his address said that such interactive meets should be organized frequently so that steps for betterment of the community are suggested and accordingly implemented. H N Jattu, President, AIKPC and Tej Krishan Bhat an activist, B L Saraf (Retd Session Judge), R K Raina, former president, ASKPC, P N Pandita (Retd) SP were also present in this meeting
