People hold protest against PDD after youth dies of electrocution 12/23/2015 9:38:39 PM Early Times Report Jammu Dec 23: The family members, relatives and neighbours of a person who died some days ago due to short-circuit in an electric pole, near Jib Thati road of Udhampur district, today staged a protest near Ice Factory on national highway against authorities of Power Development Department (PDD) for their alleged negligence. Protesters said that some day before the power supply wire fell down on the road. "Despite locals informed the concerned authorities in this regard but failed to take any step to repair the power cable resulting into the death of one person as Sham Lal s/o Govind Ram r/o Jib Thati. The ill-fated person got critical burns injuries after he came into contact with the live wire lying on the roadside, they said and added he was immediately shifted to District Hospital Udhampur from where he was referred to Govt medical College an Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for advanced treatment but he succumbed last night. Amid slogans against the PDD authorities for their alleged negligence and demanding compensation for the family members of the deceased, the protestors alleged that the person died due to negligence of PDD field workers and demanded action against the concerned PDD field staff.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
