J&K Bankers' Club organizes first meet

Srinagar, Dec 23: To promote mutual understanding and fellowship among the Bankers' community of the state, J&K Bankers' Club was formally constituted in a meeting held at Regional Office, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Jammu. The meeting was presided by Regional Director RBI D. Sethy, .
As Chief Patron of the club, Chairman & CEO J&K Bank Mushtaq Ahmad graced the occasion with his words of wisdom to the bankers' community on the current economic scenario to highlight the need for mutual cooperation and understanding amongst the bankers.
In his keynote address D. Sethy requested all the participants to discuss important matters related to the banking and financial sector including day-to-day operations on informal platform of Bankers' Club. He further said that the Club should strive to make sincere efforts for overall economic upliftment of the state by sharing valuable expertise with the government and also with the business community.
Chief patron of the Bankers' Club Mushtaq Ahmad discussed in brief the roadmap for the club and advised the gathering to actively pursue the goals of the club so as to find solutions to issues of common interest and strengthen the bonding among fellow bankers.
Earlier, in his welcome address J&K Bank Executive President S S Sehgal conveyed his gratitude to the Regional Director RBI for taking the initiative of formation of the Club and shared with the house the nominations received from different banks for the Executive/Management committee which was unanimously approved by the Bankers.
He also thanked Chairman J&K Bank, Senior Officers from RBI, NABARD, Public Sector Banks, Private sector Banks and Grameen Banks for their whole hearted participation.
Vice President J&K Bank Raman Koushal, who is also General Secretary of the Club, presented the vote of thanks to all the bankers for their presence and hoped that active support shall be extended by all for initiating the club activities.
