| Another alliance of so-called Secular-Nationalists? | | | Er. Jitender Kohli
Our society is encountering variant excesses unleashed by the Kashmir valley centric leaders, separatist and their well-wishers with the patronage of the dynastic family rulers, and some so-called intellectuals spread over nation including UPA allied. Pakistan Government applying its full might got foothold in the Kashmir valley proven as the fertile land for terrorism is continuing proxy-war against the Indian Union in disguise of Jihad to implement fanatic "Nizam-e-Mustafa" for the Kashmir Muslims. It's a pity that terrorists are also victimizing Kashmiri Muslims including dishonouring their noble women too. The weak central leadership under the wings of Sonia-Rahul Gandhi had further compounded the Kashmir situation depending on the Abdullahs- separatists who have their own vested interests.
The unexpected political combination of BJP-PDP in this state to govern under a development diplomatic understanding to reduce the wider regional gap between three regions of the state has surprised the entire those who believe in monarchical governing system. For this some of the ideological stand by both parties has to be kept on the back burners. It's true that people of both regions who elected them for their ideologies are feeling neglected or deceived. Most of them could feel the compulsions of these parties being in the interests of the state and nation on the whole by defusing the mistrust attitude of these regions through possible equal development which might provide an opportunity to rethink over by these people.
The valley defeated leaders and the separatists who also feel neglected by the central government are bent upon to create fuss in valley to topple this combination to regain their lost field. NC and Congress have and are offering their unconditional support to the PDP to re-form government after breaking this alliance. It means they want to roll back to that strategy which widens the mistrust wedge between state regions. In the Previous state government alliances Congress continued as a partner. During those alliances Jammu region was the main sufferer because of all type discrimination. At the same time they proved to be bitter enemy of the common valley people by taking all cares of the creamy layer of the society. The separatist also enjoyed the luxurious life which they can't do without soft hand of the state governments where congress existed in state and centre too.
Though PDP had shared power with congress and also have ideology which drags valley people from the national main stream society she might on the same ideology but have tried to change it to bring national mainstream society development gains for this state, especially for the valley people. They must have seen what uplift the migrated section of valley people got with the national society. These migrated from their homes still have aching and bleeding hearts but are bit mentally comfortable with nationalists.
There is a so-called nationalist section of society in Jammu region desperately pressurizing BJP to quit this alliance. They allege BJP to drop its ideology for which the voters elected them. They raise those issues which the party had extended in the election campaigning. Here one can understand that such promises can only be fulfilled if that party gets majority in the assembly. This section before raising such issues must view what this region had from the last alliances. During those alliances this region had sent its elected representatives in congress, Panther Party, BJP and others too. In those so-called secular alliances nearly all minus BJP representatives of Jammu region had shared the government as Minster and on other status. They could never stop discrimination to this region. Can they justify their silence and failure of those periods? But now the same people are crying to get the discrimination blocked right now. In-fact the defeated, failure in getting nominations for the assembly or Rajaysabha or other prominent greasy status of boards or bodies have frustration which made them to curse BJP on all possible grounds they can make. To meet this demand of the opposing section if BJP come out of alliance the next government shall be formed by the past combinations which are out rightly influenced and commanded by Kashmir based leaders. Can BJP on opposition benches stop Jammu discrimination?
Now both the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir regions are bound to stand on the development working understanding. Jammu region has started feeling development on the ground level apparent from the various programs. Just exemplary we can point to AIIMS, IIT, program to provide bunkers, five marala plots at safe place to the LOC/ IB residents, settlement of the variant refugees, treating Doda/ Kishtwar refugees treating at par with Kashmiri migrants, sanctions to the tourism development programs and such more developments got pace. This is which the Jammu region was eluded for the last sixty eight years. One can feel the facts as this alliance is in infancy and still to settle to speedy deliver.
On the other side the PDP is also sincerely working for the development of Kashmir valley but are bound to take care of Jammu region as BJP being its allied partner in the government. If PDP is consulting the Huriyat separatist leaders for Kashmir valley development it doesn't mean that the Huriyat is partner of the alliance. PDP might have its some compulsions or a strategy to involve them in the development works for the peaceful implementations. If PDP do so without affecting the national interests none should curse it. If the PDP pleases separatists at the cost of national security, integrity or prestige this alliance can't exit a day more.
BJP is being opposed by the so-called congress led secular forces is smiling with finding another bunch born in Jammu region as so-called nationalist to curse BJP. This can be taken as another alliance of so-called secular and so-called nationalists with other definitions may be at the cost of nation.
