Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm

Jammu, Dec 24: Eid milad-un Nabi was celebrated today in Central Eid Gah Jammu by Anjuman Islah -UI- Muslimeen in which renowned scholars from the State and out of the State participated. The program spread over two sessions i.e. morning session and after-noon session where a large gathering attended. The session started with recitation of Holy Quran by Qari Mohammad Akram followed by Naate-e-Rasool (SAW). The Session presided over by Maulana Siraj-ud-Din Sahib Imam [amia Masjid Mohalla Ustad.
While addressing the gathering in the first session prominent scholar Molana Lal Din of Rajouri highlighted some aspects of the life and achievements of Prophet Islam and declared that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony. It was the teaching of the Islam which brought the warring groups of Arab society under one umbrella. It was the teaching of Islam which stopped and condemned the practice of murdering and burning of female child. It was the teaching of Islam which provided a system of justice based on equality and righteousness.
Afterward, the renowned Islamic Scholar Molana Hassan Raza from Delhi delivered his lecture and highlighted the relevance of teachings of Islam with each passing day. He also appealed the audience to spread message of Islam which is message of peace among fellow citizens. Thus each member of Muslim community is basically preacher of peace and is to discharge his duty will full dedication and devotion. This session ended with prayers for peace in the world and particularly in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety across the Poonch District.
Thousands of devotes chanting pro-Islamic slogans participated religious processions which were taken out on the occasion at different places. The major procession was taken out in Mendhar town in which thousands of people from Mendhar town and its adjoining areas participated with full religious fervor. On the occasion, religious preachers addressed the gathering while 'Eid Namaz' was also performed. Similar processions were also taken out in many other parts of the district including Mendhar, Mandi, Surankote and Poonch which were also participated by a large number of people. Religious preachers addressed the gathering in the Masjid while prayers were also performed. The administration for ensuring peaceful celebrations had put strong security arrangements in place to prevent any untoward incident. Senior officials including SDM Mendhar, Adl SP, Poonch and others kept patrolling the area round the clock. Meanwhile Muslim community members celebrated the festival and offered prayers in different Masjids.
