Jammu, Dec 24: The dual character of a Jammu minister has given many reasons to people here to comprehend as to how the party is tolerating him or not showing him the doors.
The government orders on certain Health Department issues have raised many eyebrows on this account.
In a recent development, one Lotika Khajuria who was superseded by her junior on the post of Drug Controller took the shelter of the court and got her position reinstated despite Health and Medical Education minister's infringement while at Government Medical College , two principals are holding one post which has became the laughing stock for the minister who is acting more of a buffoonery rather a serious business in health and medical care.
The issue came into the light when the Health and Medical Education Minister, out of the blue, superseded his blue eyed Dr Nazir, junior to Lotika Khajuria to take up as the Controller , Drugs and Food Control Organization J&K which was challenged by Lotika Khajuria in the court of law.
Khajuria took the matter to the court, where the court ordered back her posting as Controller, Drugs and Food Control Organization J&K while Dr Nazir was sent back to his original place of posting.
Lotika today took the charge.
In another glaring example where Health Minister had to face the humiliating front was when he made in charge Principal Dr Kaiser Ahmed as Principal GMC Srinagar.
The earlier principal Prof Rafeeq Pampori, as per the media reports had sought voluntary retirement and went on a 'protest' leave.
The highly placed sources divulge that Pampori had met the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who enquired about the reasons for his 'voluntary retirement'.
Pampori had told Mufti about the political intervention of Health Minister in the system saying that it led to his taking of voluntary retirement
"Mufti Mohammad Sayeed immediately released the order for Dr Pampori to be reinstated back in his earlier place of posting as Principal, Government Medical College Srinagar," said the sources .
Presently, GMC, Srinagar is running with two Principals.
It's now a clash of egos and a PDP v/s BJP battle. Who gets to decide what's correct - the Chief Minister or the Minister concerned?, tweeted former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Omar also made a scathing attack immediately saying through another tweet : "Making a mockery of #GoodGovernance CM J&K appoints 1 Dr as principal of Govt Medical College, Health Minister another. Institution suffers!".
On Nov 19 Health Minister had made incharge principal Dr Kaiser Ahmed as Principal GMC Srinagar. Mufti prevailed and nailed Minister with coronation of Pampori back on the Principal post .
It is pertinent to mention here that while in Srinagar, Health Minister's any activity is snubbed and not taken seriously , while back in Jammu he is making the mockery of the things.
In Jammu Government Medical College Dr Zahid Gilani was made principal replacing Dr Ghanshyam Dev while no reason was quoted there on.
Also a novel scheme launched by the Health Minister to incorporate government run medical shops in all district and main hospitals of Jammu is inviting the people's anger.
"The minister has issued order for 51 medical shops to be installed in all Jammu medical colleges, district hospitals which would dent the business of the local businessmen while for Srinagar he fears to announce such order for being receiving a back lash," said one of the senior doctor of Government Medical College Jammu, adding that Minister's tone and tenor for Kashmir is 'Jenab Jenab" while in Jammu he roars on his own whims and fancies. |
