'Extra-marital affair' leads to double murder Accused VDC member surrenders 12/24/2015 11:33:56 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Dec 24 : An alleged extramarital affair took an ugly turn on Thursday over some money dispute and led to a double murder in this frontier district on Thursday. Sources told Early Times member of a Village Defence Committee (VDC), Mushtaq Ahmed son on Mohammad Rashid of Samote in a fit of rage shot dead a woman Shamima Akhtar wife of Muhammad Din and her son 7 year old son Toheed Ahmed at Budhal town this morning. "The accused and the deceased woman had illicit relations with the accused as her husband is presently working in Saudi Arabia," sources claimed. "The accused Mushtaq Ahmed, who also runs a barber shop in the area, entered into the house of the deceased this morning and both entered into a heated argument over some money dispute. In a fit of rage, Ahmed opened fire killing Shamima and her 7-yr old son the spot," sources added. Sources said soon after the incident the accused surrendered before the police along with the gun. The accused was arrested and the bodies were shifted to sub district hospital at Kotranka to perform postmortem and complete other legal formalities. "No direction was issued to the VDC members of the area to surrender their guns .Only VDC member involved in the crime has been arrested and his gun has been snatched. There is no question of disbanding VDCs as these were raised by the State Government," said A K Attri, DIG Police Rajouri-Poonch police range. Meanwhile, as per reliable reports, Mumtaz Ali, ADC handed over a cheque of Rs one lakh to the next of kin of the deceased lady and assured the family members that district administration would forward a proposal for or Rs 10 lakh compensation to the government and SSP has also assured to absorb another son of the lady as SPO in police force if found eligible.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
