| National Consumer Rights Day celebrated | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Dec 25: On the eve of National Consumer Rights Day, Legal Metrology with information Department Poonch today organized a function here at Media complex.
People from all walks of life attended the program and got information about their rights and duties.
While highlighting the importance of the Consumer rights, the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology stressed the public to apply their informed choices to buy commodity from the market and assert their right as vigilant consumer.
He also gave valuable advises to the public with critical examples and also threw light on the procedures to lodge complaint in consumer forums. He advised the public that they should secure the bills of the Commodity they purchased from the market as the same can be used for easy redressal of grievances in future.
He also highlighted the importance of the department in protection of Consumer rights and emphasized that they can approach to the office of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology in case of any compliant and also informed the audience that the department is authorized on behalf of consumers to lodge complaints in appropriate consumers forums.
Meanwhile speaking on the occasion, Bhano Pratap, a legal expert by profession, threw light on Consumer Protection Act, consumer rights and other vital issues of Consumer interests and emphasized the involvement of trading community especially retailers as stalk holders in protecting the rights of Consumers. |
