CEO Rajouri announces four re-located Govt Primary Schools opened

Rajouri, Dec 24: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has reopened the four Govt Primary Schools which earlier have been merged to nearby Govt Middle Schools after directions from Director's office for poor enrolment, unsafe buildings, very less distance from nearby middle schools etc.
Immediately after the orders of co-locations, members of Village Education Committees (VECs), inhabitants of the areas, parents of the students from various locations with DO letters from concerned MLAs/MLCs approached the CEO for restoration/reopening of some schools.
As the said initiative (merging) has received wide spread criticism from locals and parents in various areas, and but to authenticate the allegations levelled by some parents/VDC members, Ch Altaf Hussain, CEO Rajouri constituted various teams of senior officers of the department for rechecking of such schools for which people approached him for reopening.
"Atleast 177 schools had been merged wit nearby Govt Middle Schools under directions from Commissioner Secretary Education and Director School Education, after the reports were furnished by the concerned Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs)"said an official at CEO office, officials said.
On the recommendations of the committees constituted for restorations of few Govt Primary Schools which earlier were merged, the CEO Rajouri vide his office order has ordered for restoration of four Govt Primary Schools etc.
Those school which will be reopened after CEO order have been identified as Govt Primary School (GPS) Narota in Kalakot Education Zone, Govt Primary School at Nalla Thumba in Lower Hathal Zone, Govt (Girls) PS at Kotli Kalaban in Manjakot Zone and Mobile Govt PS at Bidding in Thanamandi zone.
"Concerned ZEOs have been directed to start the classes in these schools with immediate effect & provide at least two teachers from nearby locations each to these schools will be arranged," said CEO Rajouri.
