| People rue irratic water supply | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Dec 24: Not with standing the tall claims of the government people of Mendhar Tehil rued irratic water supply in many areas of Poonch district in general and Mendhar tehsil in particular as supply lines have developed cracks and pilferage lauses great trouble in smooth water supply to the people.
Source said that though hundreds of thoughts rupees have been spent on the laying of pipes but the same are not being maintained lambasting the irresponsible role of PHE Deptt. People of the area further added that the department's lenient view an inefficiency were the factors that people are getting rasty, dirty and contaminated water for drinking purposes that too in a very little quantity.
Youth Club General Secretary Tazeena Kazmi in an appeal to PHE minister urged the immediate repair of broke pipes, plugging of leakages and demanded clean and smooth water supply for the area so that the basic amenity could be facilitated to the people, he added.
As there have been also no maintenance of water reservoirs even. Many of them have not been cleaned since a long time. People of many village like Harni, Mendhar, Ari and so on have to face much difficulties because the water pilferage from the supply lines inundates water as many water works scheme in these areas were defunct. |
