Early Times Report DODA, Dec 25: The alleged Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) appointment scam of Doda has been listed for hearing by the state vigilance commission on January 5, 2016. The alleged scam revolves around the illegal appointments of nearly a dozen ReTs in Doda, Ghat and Bhagwah zones. The scam is said to have been already proved the state vigilance organisation vide its communication No SVO/veri-Ud-08/2012-7248-50 dated June 21, 2013, but when no action, the complainant moved SVC. Sources, however, alleged that some serving and retired officials of education department, Doda, were trying their best to save the involved officers and the illegal appointees. The ReTs were appointed from the backdoor without advertising the vacancies in local newspapers. This led to the violation of guidelines and norms promulgated by the government as regards the appointment of ReTs and opening and upgradation of schools. Fake feasibility reports were also alleged to have been prepared by the officials concerned. The complainant alleged that he was being threatened for pursuing the case of illegal appointments of ReT teachers and highlighting other malpractices in education department, Doda. The threats were being given to him by the illegally appointed ReT teachers and their relatives, he alleged. He alleged that to put pressure on him to withdraw the case from SVC, conspiracies were also being hatched to implicate him in false cases. He said the illegal appointment of a ZEO's daughter and that two others in primary school, Chakri, was also reflected in the report bearing No CEO/D/Legal/14491-94 dated August 3, 2015. People had now approached the CEO, who got posted there in the recent past, and requested him to order a probe into the irregularities which were alleged to have been committed by the officials who had not been transferred outside the district for the past 10-20 years. |
