Mismanagement mars SSB exam | Aspirants get center details 2 hrs before exam; cell phones allowed inside exam halls | | GS Asgotra

Jammu, Dec 25: Authorities of Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) made mockery of recruitment process on Friday. The aspirants who appeared for written test for Compiler and Inspectors at GGM Science College, Luthra College of Education and other centers established by the JKSSB had to face tough time. Castigating the functioning of the JKSSB, an aspirant Deepak Kumar said that the mismanagement of the authority could be gauged from this fact that the allotted centers by the Board were changed at the eleventh hour, causing hurdles for aspirants, who were unaware of their centers. He further said that given the improper arrangements, just two hours before the examination begun, the recruitment agency orally informed the aspirants and wrote on the admit cards about the examination centers' name including Luthra College of Education and GGM Science College for written test. "Unfortunately when these aspirants reached there, there was no proper accommodation nor sufficient stationeries were available there, forcing the monitoring staff to talk with JKSSB authorities. When they failed to arrange stationery for the aspirants, the infuriated aspirants started protesting", said Deepak Kumar. "Due to non availability of proper set up, some furious aspirants also snatched sheets of the aspirants and tore down", he said. There are nearly 200 students who had not got proper sitting arrangement and didn't get stationary in the Luthra College of Education, the aspirants alleged. They also alleged that some aspirants were found using mobile phones in various centers in Government Higher Secondary School, RS Pura and Luthra College of Education and their photographs were also clicked by invigilators and send to Board but no action was taken against the aspirants and the invigilators", another aspirant said. They further alleged that there was something fishy between Board authorities and some aspirants as even there were initial reports that paper was leaked. "JKSSB took Rs 400 as fee from all aspirants then why they failed to provide Admit cards on time before few days of examination. Even they did not intimate the aspirants, whose centers were also changed, there was total mess and Government must take action", he said. JKSSB, Secretary didn't pick up his phone despite repeated calls. Meanwhile, mismanagement in the exam conducted by JKSSB was reported from Srinagar, Doda and Bhaderwah also. Many students were caught on camera using mobiles for solving the questions, beside filling the answer sheets in open by using the helps of others. Several aspirants appearing in the JKSSB test today informed "Early Times", that many examination centers lack basic facilities amid prevailing cold condition and many students were fainted due cold condition. A job aspirants from Kishtwar identified as Joginder Kumar fainted at Sheen Public School Doda and was later shifted to District Hospital Doda by his friends in emergency condition where he is still undergoing treatment when last reports came in. They informed that few examination centers were established inside under construction building in Doda District and many students were forced to sit on jute mates under severe cold condition. "It was very difficult to hold a pen in his hand--- the condition is really very cold and many students fail to complete the question paper" said an aspirant wishing anonymity. Meanwhile many job aspirants appeared in today's test complained about open mass copying in today's question paper and demanded immediate cancelation of the text papers and in support of demands submitted various photographs shows candidates appearing in the JKSSB test today restore to open mass copying and were also seen using mobile phones opening inside the examination hall. They said that few aspirants were allowed to go outside along with answer sheets and allowed them to return back after solving them with the help of the outsiders. Many job aspirants also did not find names in the centers allotted to them after they approached to JKSSB officials for change of examination center. They alleged that JKSSB officials did not forwarded the details to concern superintendents of examination centers after changing their centers, added that many of them were allowed late inside examination hall as a result of which they fail to solve the question paper due to wastage of time while few aspirants rued early snatching of answer sheets by the invigilators. After open mass copying reports the chorus goes loader over the cancelation of today's test besides JKSSB should need to take major sleeves to restore the prestige before poor and intellectual students who burnt midnight oil for securing jobs in various government departments. |
