| JKSBOSE offices await biometric attendance machines | | Project delayed as tenders evoke no response | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 25 : In a bid to revamp the Jammu Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKSBOSE) by converting it into an organization equipped with hi-tech equipments, the state government had contemplated to install biometric attendance machines at Jammu and Srinagar offices of the Board. Though the government had honest intentions of improving the work culture in JKSBOSE but installation of biometric attendance machines proved to be a damp squib as no individual or firm came forward to fill the tenders floated for the same some time ago.
After getting a no response to the tenders invited for the setting up of biometric attendance machines, the Board officials are now maintaining that the process of inviting tenders would be initiated again.
The two main offices of JKSBOSE at Jammu and Srinagar have hundreds of employees working there and in order to check their unauthorized absence as well as to ensure punctuality, the Board authorities after getting a nod from the government had invited tenders for fixing the required biometric attendance machines at both the central offices.
However, even after the passage of several days of inviting tenders for the installation of biometric attendance machines there were no takers for making the dream project of the Board authorities to take off due to which it gets delayed unnecessarily.
Despite facing initial hiccups, the Board hierarchy is desperately trying to make its dream project a reality sooner than later.
The Board officials are hopeful that after retendering for the installation of biometric attendance machines, a positive response would definitely be received and the firms would certainly show keen interest for the assignment.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the JKSBOSE secured a place among the four best School Education Boards, the Board officials are very eager to further boost the image of the organization by introducing innovative ideas but as of now the first such project in the pipeline has got stuck for the reasons beyond the control of Board authorities. |
