Poonch, Dec 25: Various religious organizations representing particular community held a meeting under the chairman ship of Satpal Sharma, President District Brahman Sabha Poonch, the representatives demanded from state government to declare restricted holiday on Charri yatra (Mace Yatra) to Shri Budha Amarnath in Mandi Poonch.
In a meeting held at Maa Ann Purna Temple Poonch, President Brahman Sabha Poonch, Satpal Sharma said, "The Charri (Holy Mace) Yatra to Shri Budha Amarnath has become an important religious event in the Rajouri-Poonch in which thousands of devotees from across the northern India participate and government needs to encourage it.
"Government should declare restricted holiday on the event, he said and reminded that Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on the eve of Rakshabandhan in this year has declared to announce holiday on the Chharri yatra day. He urged the State Government to declare holiday on Chharri yatra in coming year.
Netan Sharma, Anuj Sharma, Advocate Chaman lal Sharma, Varinder Sharma, Koushal Sharma, Pt Gopal Sharma and Pankaj Sharma also spoke on the occasion. |
