Doda, Dec 25: All Jammu and Kashmir plus 2 Lecturers Forum today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Dr Anis Ahmed in which they show resentment on current decision of Cabinet Sub Committee to handover the post of Joint Director to KAS cadre. According to press release, it was called a black move by almost all the speakers who spoke at the occasion who maintained that such a move degrades, humiliates and denigrates the lecturer cadre.
The cadre already suffer stagnation where it is lecturers' cadre alone which is deprived of running grade and now taking away of Joint Director post adds to suffering and more stagnation and completely blocks the channels of promotions. "It is against SRO 481 where a joint director is preferred over a KAS officer for Director Post meaning that experienced educationist must be preferred over an administrator", they said.
An appeal was made to Chief Minister and Minister of Education to intervene in the matter personally and avoid this black move so that at least current status of Lecturers is maintained. Meeting ended with the wishes for the good health of Chief Minister. SK Chandial, Virender Singh, Tariq Hussain, Tahir Ashraf, Jaffer Hussin, Dr Imtiaz, Shamim Nazke, Hardev Shaib, Davent Kotwal and Mander Singh were also attended the meeting. |
