NSF flays COE for delaying results of PG Courses for 7 months | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25 : National Secular Forum (NSF) to express resentment against the authorities of Jammu University (JU) for playing with the future of hundreds of students. Laid back approach of the Controller of Examination to stick to the schedule of declaring result of students of JU has irked the students' fraternity. Addressing gathering, senior vice-President Surjit Choudhary said that as per the standing norms the result of all categories if exams must be declared within 45 days from the date of holding if exams but the present dispensation of JU has closed their eyes and declaring the result at their sweet will time ranging from 6 to 7 months period which reflects the extent of efficiency of Controller of Examination. Citing the examples of result of exams of PG held in May 2015 he divulged that exams of PG in the subject of Commerce, MCA, Education, English, Geography Urdu, Pol. Science 2nd semester, Political Science, Education, Chemistry, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Kashmiri, Hindi 4th semester were held in may 2015 but the results of all the above mentioned subjects were declared. It is matter of shame on the part of JU that inspite of adequate parapheranlia and spending lakhs of rupees on holding exams, the Controller of Examination has awfulky failed to gear up his system to ensure timely results of exams saying it a deliberate attempt to harass and jeopardise the academic career of the students. He alleged that Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma instead of improving the key delivery systems was busy in pursuing vindictive agenda against the scholars and students despite the fact that the Chancellor of the University (Governor N N Vohra) had directed the University authorities during the University Council meet to streamline the Evaluation and Re-Evaluation processes so that results could be declared in time. Ever since, Prof R D Sharma has taken over the reins of the University, the condition has gone worst as almost all the sections have failed to deliver in time especially evaluation is the real casualty. |
