| Three held with Heroin worth lakhs in Gandhi Nagar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25 : Gandhi Nagar police today have apprehended three narcotic smugglers during naka checking here today and recovered the consignment of contraband Heroine in three packets valuing lakhs in International market.
The car being used for carrying the consignment was also seized by the police.
The accused have been identified as Anil Kumar alias Chusu s/o Mohan of Bakshi Colony, Anil Kumar alias Johny s/o Harbans Lal of Kullian and Amandeep Singh alias Gourav s/o Darshan Singh of Narhi of R S Pura.
According police sources, the catch was made by the police team after the occupants of vehicle tried to break the naka checking and police team gave a hot case and succeeded to reach to them.
Sources said, "The Maruti 800 car bearing regd no JK02AL-9702 was caught at Sanjay Nagar after a chase by the alert naka team."
"During thorough search of vehicle, police recovered three packet of Heroin valuaing worth lakhs in international market. "The accused were arrested on spot and vehicle also got seized, police said.
Police have registered a case under FIR No 309/2015 RPC under NDPS Act against the accused and further investigations are on.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer giving information said that during preliminary questioning, the accused informed police that they were indulged in the selling of drugs to the youth in Jammu for the last many years. He added among customer large number are of girl students and sustained questioning was in progress till last reports poured in.
