Excise sleuths conducted raids, destroys 900 Kg Lahan | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Jan 21 : Continuing its drive to curb the menace of distillation of illicit liquor, illegal smuggling of liquor from other States, the J&K Excise Department has intensified raids, the excise sleuths conducted raids in Kathua at various places and destroyed 900 Kgs of Lahan- illicit liquor. According to the official spokesperson, the teams led under the active supervision of Excise Commissioner, J&K T Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Shahid Saieem, conducted raids in district Kathua. "Excise sleuths led by ETO. Kathua Sandeep Gupta conducted raids in Tarat Sanji and Lower SaktaChak areas and destroyed over nine hundred (900) kilograms of Lahan (illicit Liquor) after its recovery. Spokesperson also added that J&K Excise Department has activated its Eradication and Enforcement (Wing) Jammu to act as 'flying squad' to take action, as provided under law or on any complaint regarding violation of Excise Law. |
