JAMMU, Jan 21: Continuing its drive against drug and narcotics smugglers/peddlers, the police today claimed to have arrested another narcotics peddler and recovered 5.5gms of Heroin during a naka checking unde the jurisdiction of Police Post (P/P) Chatha.
"The accused has been identified namely as Rakesh Kumar @ Montu s /o Makhan Lal r /o Bhour Camp W-02, police said.
According to police sources, during naka checking at Hakkal Morh police team intercepted a youth on suspicion basis and during his frisking, the police recovered 5.5 gms of Heroin and one electronic weighing machine from the possession of the accused. Police said that the accused used to sell the drug among the youths on mobility and that's why he was carrying small digital weighing machine with him.
