AJKEWU-JKSPDC urges Guv to consider their long pending demands

Srinagar, Jan 21: All J&K Employees Workers Union (AJKEWU) of Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) held its meeting at Union Head Office, Power Complex, Bemina Srinagar under the leadership of Mir Riyaz Loswani and urged Governor of State to intervene and consider their long pending demands.
After threadbare discussions, the speakers observed that the JKSPDC employees are facing lot of problems on account of non- settlement of pension cases of JKSPDC employees at Accountant General's level.
"It has been collectively decided by the JKSPDC employees that the need of hour is to impressed upon state govt and the concerned higher authorities of JKSPDC to take serious note of this grave issue for its everlasting settlement, "spokesperson of union said.
He said besides, employees also felt if the higher ups failed to redress this issue, they will be left with no option but to launch a statewide protest. JKSPDC Employees also decided to take the matter to the court of law to get justice if the concerned fail to concede their demands. The participation union members also resolved to select a committee for the Non-settlement of pension cases.
They also urged to Governor of J&K and the concerned higher authorities to look into the matter on priority bases as the matter of fact (Under Cabinet Decision No: 28 dtd 18/02/1989 vide Govt Order No: 49-PD of 1989 Dtd: 07/03/1989 issued by Additional Secretary to Govt PDD which states that until the corporation is formally registered, all the staff engaged in the projects and schemes shall stand transferred to the corporation, on existing terms and conditions protecting their lien and their existing emoluments. "But JKSPDC has not yet formulated its statutory rules, as such, all the employees working there are treated as transferred employees and for all practical purposes they are governed by the state service rules, he added.
