Samba, Jan 21 : In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling, the police have foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one bovine smugglers and rescuing seven (07) animals from being illegally transported. Police spokesperson said, "A Police party headed by SI Ashish Sagar, incharge Police Post (P/P) Mansar under the supervision of DySP (Hqrs) Samba and Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO Police Station samba laid a naka on specific information about bid to smuggle bovine from the area." "The naka team during naka checking intercepted a truck bearing registration No: JK02AF-4165, carrying seven bovine animals which were being illegally transported without permission, police added. "The driver identified as Yousaf Ahmed s/o Manzoor Hussain r/o Sidhra Jammu was arrested on the spot when he failed to provide any document/permission to transport the animals from one district to another, police said, adding that the vehicle too has been seized by the police." The concerned police have registered a case under FIR No 11/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 2/3 Prevention of Cruelty against Animals (PCA) Act stands registered at P/S Samba and further investigation carried on. |
