JAMMU, Jan 21 : KC Sports Club and Chrisian Sports Club registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the 4th Eid Diwali Christmas T20 Cricket Cup for students and youths of the state, which played at Parade Ground. The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization. The Organizing Committee includes Hilal Rather, Sanjay Mahajan, Rajesh Gill, David Mattoo, Asif Gill, Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Sunil Sambyal and Sunny Gill. The slogan of the tournament is " Khelo Khushi Sey- Par Nasha Mat karo". Earlier Anil Mangotra Chief Prosecuting Officer NHRC Jammu was the Chief Guest in today's Matches who was introduced with the participating teams . While Speaking on the occasion he conveyed his best wishes to the participating players for their best performance in the tournament. In the first match KC Sports Club defeated Tawi Cricket Club by runs . Batting first, KC Sports XI scored 139 runs in stipulated 16 overs, with Ateef (39) and Sahil Lalotra (34) being the main scorers. Kamalpreet took 2 wickets ,while Shubam , Deepa and Sahib took 1 wicket each for Tawi Cricket Club. Tawi Cricket Club, in reply could not achieved the target and scored only 93 runs in the allotted 16 overs by losing 7 wickets thus lost the match by 46 runs. Asif was the top scorer with 27 runs, while Nayeem contributed 24 runs. Sahil took 3 wickets, Noushad and Karan Bhat took 2 wickets each . Sahil was adjudged man of the match. In the second match, Christian Sports Club scripted a thrilling win against Bahufort Cricket XI. Batting First Bahufort Cricket Club scored 129 runs for all wickets in allotted 20 overs game with Mohit 25 runs, Sunny 24 and Ropesh 21 were the main scorers , Anchal took 3 wickets each , while Nitu Khokher took 2 wickets and Sunny and Ambroose took 1 wicket each for Christian Sports XI. Christian Sports Club chased the target in 18.2 over of the game by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Hinan top scored with 58 runs and Danny made 23 runs for the team. Yogesh took 3 wickets, while Mukesh took 1 wicket. Hinan was adjudged man of the match . The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Sunil Sambyal and Danny. |
