Ramzanpura awaits macadamization of road for 10 yrs | R&B CE questions veracity of complaint | | Mohd Irfan
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 23 : Because of the apathetic attitude of the authorities concerned, Ramzanpura, that falls in ward No 60, is craving for black-topping of the road for about 10 years. The road is in a dilapidated condition and the inhabitants alleged that successive regimes had paid no attention to the macadamization of the road. They alleged that Ramzanpura was faced with the official apathy as repeated commitments made with them by some MLAs and ministers had proved to be untrue. The road condition had deteriorated further, they said and added that it had puddles and potholes on it. Ramzanpura falls under the constituency of MLA and ex-forest minister Bali Bhagat. Taking a dig at him, the residents said he also failed to get the road black-topped even as he had got the road constructed in his own locality. They said the road leading to the graveyard at Gujjar Mohalla also needed black-topping as it too was dilapidated. They said since the Ramzanpura road was quite dusty, locals were suffering from throat infections. When contacted for his comments, R&B chief engineer Alok Mengi surprisingly asked this scribe his name and suggested to send him an SMS on his cell phone as regards the complaint of residents. |
