Pulwama, Jan 23 : Amid prevailing political uncertainty over government formation, out of power NC Patron Dr Farooq Adbullah and party working President, Omar Abdullah are busy taking lead against each other these days in making contradictory statements. Contradicting his earlier Tweets, Omar Abdullah today in reply to a Tweet of journalist Naseer Ganai which reads as "Only people Keen to have PDP-BJP govt in J&K are Omar Abdullah & Ex-Ministers. others are enjoying good riddance & spring in chillai Kalan," said that he does not want PDP-BJP government but fresh elections. "Actually I don't want a PDP/BJP Govt. I want an end to the uncertainty. Even elections will be better than this," Omar said in his Tweet While in his another Tweet earlier Omar according to analysts keeping all options alive for his political survival said "It's been 2 weeks since 1.25 Cr people of J&K were placed under central rule because of one party's inability to lead. How much longer?" At a time when PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti is yet to take make any comments regarding prevailing political uncertainty after the demise of PDP founder, late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, Omar in a few days back came up with suggestions for Mehbooba and said "The longer Mehbooba delays the more people will expect her to extract concessions from the centre. Good luck to her in these games of her's." In yet another confusing Tweet Omar asked PDP-BJP to form government by Tweeting "The alliance stands, no conditions have been set, no negotiations are being conducted but still no government is being formed. Inexplicable!" According to analysts, hoping to gain public support from the condition of PDP-BJP break down after forming coalition government, Omar in his another Tweet said " Enough is enough. If you can't rise to the occasion end the coalition & lets go back to the people again." Known for changing statements every time after reactions surface against his statements, Farooq Abdullah hogged headlines for his comments once again once on Political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir and on the issue of return of Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir. On Saturday January 17 Farooq Abdullah denied saying that his party was willing to partner with the BJP and said "I have never said we are going to go with BJP. I have said BJP and PDP should form a government because they have a mandate. We don't have mandate so we cannot decide on government formation." Contradicting his own statement Farooq Abdullah earlier at Jammu had said "if a proposal comes from the BJP, the "NC will call a Working Committee (meeting) and debate over it. If such a situation arises, NC can think over it as we have not closed the doors. Our doors are open." On the controversy over his "begging bowl" statement on return of Kashmiri Pandits Farooq on January 21 said that "In 1996, we made every effort and requested Kashmiri Pandits to return back to their homes in Kashmir, Both Nationalist and Hurriyat leaders requested them to return to their homes, but they did not want to return." The statement of Farooq came after Pandit leaders of Kashmir lashed at him for making irresponsible statement regarding settlement issue of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir as Farooq in his earlier statement had blamed Kashmiri Pandits for not returning to Kashmir and had said that "nobody can go with begging bowl and ask them to return Kashmir." |
