Sham Lal expresses concern over ration scarcity, erratic power supply | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 23: Expressing serious concern over scarcity of ration and precarious power situation across the state, senior vice president Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and former minister Sham Lal Sharma said that the administration must come out of deep slumber and infuse responsiveness and an element of accountability in its machinery in order to mitigate the sufferings of people. Launching a scathing attack on BJP led NDA government by raising a slogan "Modi Ji Ke Lambe Lambe Bhashan, Kahin Nahin Hai Ration, Kya Yehi Hai Sushasan" Sham Lal said that the shortage of ration in Jammu region speaks about the insensitivity and callousness of the authorities. He said there is shortage of ration especially rice, sugar and flour in government depots all across the state. Sham also said that there is no sugar supply from last 2-3 months and nowadays there is total shortage of rice and flour too as some depots have no supply of Ration and some are providing Ration below 35 kgs which is against the preset guidelines of the government. Sham also expressed concern over complaints about non adherence of power schedule by the Power Development Department (PDD). There are complaints that power schedule is not followed on ground. The unscheduled power cuts in areas both metered and unmetered are a cause of major concern as there is hardly any arrangement available to the people for cooking and keeping themselves warm in this winter. Sham also urged the Governor N N Vohra to personally look into the matter and ensure adequate supply of Ration and electricity to the people of the state. He also said that there is uncertainty in the state as no popular Ggovernment is functioning at present. There is no popular government in the state as a result of which the people of the state are suffering very badly. He also said that the BJP and PDP have shaken the confidence of the people of state by making fake promises during elections. |
