Irrigation employees stage protest, demand release of salaries

Udhampur, Feb 27: Irrigation employees under the banner of Workers Welfare Association of Irrigation (WWAI) Division Udhampur staged a protest under the presidentship of Tariq Shah against the nonpayment of their due salaries.
Addressing the protestors, President Tariq Shah said, "There are many need based workers of Irrigation Department who have been working since fifteen to sixteen years in various schemes but unfortunately they are still not been made permanent." He said that many of them are deprived of their dues for last many months despite they are putting their services in the department.
Tariq Shah also appealed to XEn to provide the list of all such employees who are working in various schemes to honorable Governor for their regularization.
He further added," Those who are working in sites on schemes must be provided salary on monthaly basis so that their families don't suffer."
General Secretary of Association Kameshwar, Suresh Kumar, Pagan Mathur, Jagdish and many others participated in this protest.
