14000 litres of kerosene like substance seized, one held | | | jammu, Feb 27: Samba Police today claimed to have seized 14000 litres of kerosene like substance which was being smuggled in two oil tankers of same number at Pallah Morh under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. "Police on receipt of reliable information, police spokesperson said, adding, "during the intervening night of 26/27 conducted raid at Pallah Morh Samba where 02 Oil Tankers of same Registration Number PB08AT-3135 were parked." However on seeing the Police Party, the drivers of both the vehicles tried to flee from the spot but alert Police team, nabbed the one of driver namely Harjeet Singh s/o Tarlook Singh r/o Jallandhar Punjab whereas the driver of another oil tanker managed to escape from the spot. Meanwhile on search of the both the oil tankers, about 14000 litres of Kerosene like chemical was found. Police said, "Thereafter, Naib Tehsildar Samba was called on spot and samples of the said substance from both the oil tankers were got collected and sent to FSL for its examination. Both the Tankers have been seized and a case under FIR No: 29/2016 u/s 420 RPC, 3/7 Essential Commodities Act was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation are on. |
