Ramban, Feb 27: Continuing to its special drive to curb the menace of bovine smuggling, District Police Ramban foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Batote, today with arrest of one bovine smuggler and rescuing 13 bovine animals. "The accused has been identified as Manmohan Singh s/o Sardar Singh of Musa Chack R S Pura, police said. Police said that on specific input police from Police Station Batote laid a special naka at Baggu Nala and during the checking of vehicles, a truck bearing registration no: JK02X-0532 driven by Manmohan Singh of Musa Chack R S Pura." "Police during thorough checking of vehicle found 13 bovines loaded in vehicle and were being transported from Jammu to Kashmir in a cruel manner without permission from authorities, police said. Police said that accordingly, bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle arrested under FIR No. 14/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act registered at police station Batote. The arrest was made by Station House Officer (SHO) Batote Sameer Jeelani, under the close supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Randeep Kumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Ramban Rafiq Choudhary. |
