| HC puts on hold appointment of Registrar DC | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 19: The state high court has put on hold appointment of Registrar state dental council after government said that the dental council was yet to be constituted.
"Since dental council is yet to be constituted, the appointment of Dr B. Ahmad as Registrar shall remain on hold," a single of bench of the court comprising Justice Bansi Lal Bhat said while hearing a petition alleging that present registrar was 'self styling' himself on the post. The court also issued a notice to him, seeking his response to a petition filed by four dentists. The petitioners claim that no authority or individual can act as member or registrar of dental council before it was legally constituted as per the rules.
Meanwhile, the court granted government two weeks time to report about constitution of the dental council.
The direction was passed by the court after submissions by Additional Advocate General M I Dar, stating that the process about the constitution of the dental council was under process and things may shape up within two weeks. |
