'NC starts warming to BJP' | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 19: The National Conference has reportedly opened the channels of communications with the BJP after the latter had reportedly hinted at snapping the ties with the PDP. Sources said that sensing that BJP may offer government formation to the NC, the former chief minister and party's working president Omar abdullah has only been criticising the PDP and has gone silent on the BJP. Omar who had blamed the PDP for giving a space to the RSS in the Kashmir has gone completely silent on his criticism of the BJP and also of the PM. "It's not for nothing that Omar had gone silent on the BJP but is attacking PDP on government formation for the last many days. He is probably have some inkling that the BJP may approach him. And, most notably he has only recently tacitly approved the agenda-of-alliance (AoA) by asking PDP to find faults in it," said a senior NC leader. Sources said since AoA contains all things which address the sensivities of the Kashmir, Omar feels that he can lap it up and may say that it can do many things with it. "PDP was asking for time-frame. NC can say they will implement it, but will miss the frame time-frame. AoA talks of returning power projects and Omar can say will get it done. And for it he can have the seat, whichis what he wants," said a senior PDP leader. Sources said that NC leadership is likely to hold a meeting with the senior leadership to be chaired by the Farooq Abdullah and he may take a call on it once the formal invitation comes. "Farooq had never said any thing against the Modi but rather praised him at time. He has been active for quite some time in the Jammu and he could be best suited for negotiating with the BJP as he had done in the past and this is what NC is hoping and planning," said a NC leader. |
