Jammu, Mar 19: High court judge Tashi Rabstan today directed the state to demarcate as per law the 'cremation ground' land permanently at Barnai near here. The court directive came in a petition filed by locals, alleging therein that land grabbers had encroached upon 14 kanals 11 marlas of land, which was being used by people as a cremation ground, at Barnai. Justice Tashi, after hearing the counsel for petitioners, disposed of the petition with the direction to state to strictly act in accordance with provisions of law as admissible in the filed and demarcate the land permanently after removing the encroachment, if any thereon, and restore the land to its earlier position.
