NMC appeals governor to expedite process of regularization of daily rated workers

Jammu, March, 19 President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Secretary who is heading the empowered committee constituted by Governor N. N. Vohra to expedite the process of regularization of 61,000 daily rated workers to submit their reports on this issue at the earliest.
While addressing a well attended NMC meet at Gandhi Nagar, Shastri hoped that the committee will come with the final recommendations well before its stipulated time. Shastri expressed satisfaction over the fact that the committee constituted has members whose integrity is beyond doubt and have exemplary track record of public service.
Shastri further hoped that the issue gathering dust since 1994 will be solved during present Governor's administration considering the importance and genuineness of the issue.
Shastri while pleading the cause of daily rated workers demanded that till the issue of regularization is resolved, the daily rated workers should be paid, out of a regular wage head, for which specific provisions may be kept in the budget beginning with current financial year.
Shastri also stressed upon the administration to minimize the occupational hazards faced by daily rated workers who are exposed to danger without necessary safeguard protocols.
Several resolutions were adopted in the meet includes immediate clearing of file of regularization of 180 daily rated workers working in rural development department of Jammu region falls under SRO 64 is still pending in the office of Secretary Rural Development Department for the last 19 days, include Jammu and Srinagar in the list of smart cities, release of 6% DA due from July last in favour of State Govt. employees and pensioner, enhancing wages of daily rated workers to rupee ten thousand per month, issuance notification regarding implementation of 7th pay commission, setting up off national wage commission, enhancement of medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month and strictly implementing C. P. Fund deduction scheme in all departments of the State Government.
Among others who also present on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Sunil Kochhar, Sat Paul, Bhopinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Madan Lal, Surinder Kumar, Darshan Bawa, Tilak Raj and many others.
