MHBFC urges Governor to order inquiry into Mismanagement of IT Deptt | No Audit of JKeGA since 2012 | |

Jammu, Mar 22 : Jenab Muzaffar Hussain Baig Friends Club, J&K has taken serious note of the working and functioning of the J&K e-Governance Agency (JKeGA) under the administrative Control of IT Department J&K for not conducting Annual Audit for the last more than four years resulting into financial mismanagement by the way of laid norms and rules. They urged the Governor of State, N.N. Vohra and Parvez Dewan, Advisor to Governor to order a time bound inquiry into the matter. Naveen Jain, Spokesperson and Chairman of the MHBFC said as per the disclosure made in reply of RTI quires vide letter no. ITD/Genl/RTI/182/2015 it was clear that there is financial mismanagement , lack of transparency and no accountability in working, functioning and in the recruitment process of the JKeGA. Mostly all the vital e-Governance projects have not been completed yet. Naveen Jain said that that no audit inspection of J&K e-Governance Agency (JKeGA) has been conducted for the year 2012-13, 13-14, 14-15. Ditto is about the ongoing financial year 2015-16. This is despite the fact that the Agency is executing a number of vital e-governance projects upon which state and central government are expending crores. It is an absolute violation of spelt out rules framed for governing J&K e-Governance Agency (JKeGA). We have also informed Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology who provide funds for various IT projects in the State. The RTI status and the other contents showed on the website of the IT Department and JKeGA is also not updated since long, which shows the lackadaisical approach of the concerned authority towards implementation of e-Governance and ambitious Digital India mission launched by Prime Minister of India. He said that it is utmost surprise that most important Department of the J&K State is being running by 15-member team under the Secretary, IT Deptt. and JKeGA . It seemingly having no accountability for past 4 years and it is running by 16-member team, comprises five employees who are working on the direction of High Court. The IT Deptt. also failed to established its Directorate offices at both Division of the State since 2002. |
