Kishtwar casual workers without salary for 3 yrs

Kishtwar, Mar 22: Even though the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir had issued directions to various government departments with regard to regularization of daily wagers and need based workers, but to the disappointment of casual labors and need base workers working in Power Development Department Kishtwar, the department has failed to release their salaries since last 25 to 35 months.
While talking to "Early Times", President Low Paid Government Employees Federation Kishtwar Manzoor Ahmed Kichloo said that it is a matter of disappointment that despite repeated request to the concerned officers of Power Development Department as well as to the government, the department fails to release the pending salaries of casual and need based workers of the PDD whose salaries are pending since last 25 to 35 months added that the association had held a meeting in this regard to formulate a comprehensive plan so as to push for early release of the salaries of these poor employees.
"The financial positions of these innocent and poor causal and need based workers of PDD department have worsen on each passing day and had badly hit their day to day family affairs for want of financial resources--- the situation has worsen to the extent of starvation" said Mazoor Kichloo.
"I urged upon Chief Secretary B R Sharma to pay due attention towards the issue of release of salaries of these poor workers who are suffering for their no fault" said Noor Hussain Malik, Chief pattern of the Low paid government employees federation. He also seeks personal intervention of the Governor N N Vohra for early directions to the concerned officers for speedy disposal of the problems faced by these poor employees of PDD Kishtwar. He said that the matter has also been brought into the notice of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and hope that DC Kishtwar will also take keen interest in projecting the genuine issue of these poor employees with regard to early release of pending salaries in favour of these employees.
Meanwhile the association during the meeting of the office bearers also shows concern over the recent transfers of teachers and masters in which the genuine cases who deserve to be transferred near the home locality were thrown quite a distance away from their existing place of postings. The association also shows concern over ignoring of teachers and masters suffering from chronic diseases and those who are physically challenged were not given any relaxation by the education department while affecting their transfers and demanded that the department as well as the present government should come to the rescue of these aggrieved teachers and masters.
Similar concern was also shoed by other members of the association including Zahoor Ahmed Mattoo, Tariq Hussain Narwani, Ved Rattan Sharma, Waseem Ahmed Zarger, Zakir Hussain Babzada and Ghulam Hussain Mir.
