Deadlock ends, Mehbooba all set to take over as CM | Government formation | | Muhammad Mukaram Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 22: Decks have been cleared for Government formation in J&K after continuous stalemate over it since January 7, with Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP chief, terming her crucial meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi as fruitful. The credit for paving Modi-Mehbooba meet goes to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who rang disgruntled PDP chief and informed her about the appointment with Prime Ministerial official residence at 7-Race Course. "The meeting between Modi and Mehbooba is fruitful and signs a positive note and there should be a Government in Jammu and Kashmir by March 29," senior PDP leader Naeem Akther told reporters here. After meeting the PM Modi for nearly more than half an hour, at his official residence, 7 Race course road in New Delhi, Mehbooba remarked that the differences have been sorted out now positively. "I am completely satisfied after meeting the PM," Mehbooba told reporters, adding "the meeting was positive" She said that the final decision will be taken on Thursday in Srinagar after a party's legislative meeting. According to top sources, a long half an hour, first ever formal meeting over Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir between the Modi and Mehbooba has reached to conclusion, results the end of deadlock over forging the alliance between PDP and BJP. "After a long half an hour meeting between the Mehbooba and Modi that ended around after half an hour positively arrive at conclusion. Arun Jaitley, who had played a crucial role in forging an alliance despite being the ideologically opposite to PDP last year, the stalemate, finally seems to be nearing its end now by March end. Following the death of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Jan 7, Governor's rule was imposed in the State after Mehbooba, tipped as the next CM, showed reluctance to take oath.
