JAMMU, Mar 22 : The Bangladesh-Bharat-Pakistan People's Forum (BBPPF) is holding a day long peace and solidarity conference at Youth Hostel Nagrota Jammu which will be attended by galaxy of parliamentarians and other dignitaries from Bangladesh-Bharat and Pakistan belonging to various walks of life. While addressing a press conference here today, Sheikh Abdul Rehman informed that the BBPPF was founded in 2005 with the sole objective of creating friendly and peaceful environment between the three nations. He further said by conducting peace and solidarity talks, conferences and seminars involving Parliamentarians, thinkers, educationists, scholars, professors, Advocates, social and political activists of the respective states impressing upon them to shun the path diplomatic animosity and create an atmosphere of peace, friendship and good relationships to promote trade, bilateral relations, soften visa restrictions enabling displaced family to family contacts.The J&K State has remained a bone of contention between Bharat and Pakistan as a result they fought 4 conflicts in the past taking huge toll of lives and loss to the property on either side, Rehman said. Rehman further said that BBPPF is in favour of formation of a Federation of Tri-Nation including SAARC countries on the pattern of European Union having common defence system/policy with one currency and travelling facilities without visa which will virtually put the sub-continent's atmosphere under peace, prosperity and development. |
