Theft case resolved, UP based thieves held with goods worth Lakhs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 22: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have solved a theft case with the arrest of two Uttar Pradesh based thieves besides recovering goods worth in lakhs of rupees from their possession. "The accused has been identified as Talat Niyaz alias Sonu of Ujhari District Amrohain, Uttar Pradesh presently at Last Morh Gandhi Nagar and Ashok Kumar of Baborian Tehsil Saidpur District Gazipur Uttar Pradesh, police said Sharing details, Police spokesman said, "On March 12, a complainant namely Vicky Manchanda of Last Morh Gandhi Nagar Jammu lodged a written complaint regarding theft of goods worth lakhs of rupees from his shop situated at Apsara Road Gandhi Nagar, Jammu." "Accordingly, case under FIR No: 67/2016 u/s 381 RPC was registered and a manhunt was launched to arrest the accused persons, he added. "On a specific input, police party from Gandhi Nagar Police station today conducted a raid and apprehended two individuals who during questioning disclosed their name as Talat Niyaz alias Sonu and Ashok Kumar. "The accused during questioning confessed their involvement in instant case and on their disclosure police recovered stolen goods worth lakhs of rupees," said spokesman. Police said that the catch and recovery was made by a team headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Mir Imtiyaz Ahmed under the close supervision Shazad Salaria, SP City South. |
