House gutted in fire at Khari | | | Early Times Report Banihal, Apr 11: A house was gutted in fire in in Nadka area of Tehsil Khari in District Ramban. No casualty or injury has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet. Police sources said that a fire incident was reported in the house of one Abdul Rehman s/o Mohammad Ramzan on Monday afternoon. After the information Police team from Police Post Khari alongwith locals and army jawans rushed to the spot and started a joint rescue operation. "The hectic joint efforts succeeded in controlling the fire after an hour, police sources said, adding, "however the second floor and rooftop of the house got gutted in huge blazes of fire alongwith the household items.' "No loss of life/injury has been reported in this fire incident, sources said and added that Police have registered a case in this regard in Police Post Khari and started the investigations. Meanwhile Police post incharge Khari confirming the incident said that the according to initial inquiry the cause of fire was said to be electric short circuit. Meanwhile defence spokesperson Jammu Lt Col Manish Mehta said that soon after getting the information from the villagers, a team of Jawans under an Offcer of Nachlana based Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Battalion of Delta Force rushed to the site with Fire Fighting equipment. "The troops immediately picquetted the area and in coordination with locals of the village controlled the fire from spreading any further, Col Mehta said. "The injured were provided with first aid by the Army paramedics after rescue, he said, adding, "troops also assisted the locals in retrieving essential items from the shops on fire.' |
