Kashmir BJP leaders promise contracts, jobs to people
4/12/2016 12:43:59 AM

Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 11: The BJP leaders from Kashmir are finding ways and means to poke their nose into the administrative affairs so that they can make their presence felt and give a notion that they are running the Government.
Sources told Early Times that BJP leaders in Kashmir have promised moon and stars to the people and had assured them that once the Government is formed all the issues would be addressed. "A few BJP leaders have promised jobs to job seekers and a few of the leaders have promised contractors that they would help them in bagging the contracts," they added.
Sources claimed that since the day new Government has been sworn in many people could be seen making rounds around the residences of the BJP leaders in Kashmir. "BJP leaders have started calling up the officers and are asking them to oblige their aides and workers," they added.
"A few BJP leaders who stand nowhere are trying to act as bosses and are passing on instructions to the officers and are seeking answers from them," sources said.
They said a few BJP leaders who are close to the Ministers in their party are making all out efforts to ensure that they get their works done through the Ministers. "BJP leaders are telling the people that they would oblige them but in return they need to work in the field and make more and more people to join the BJP," sources said.
They said a few BJP Ministers have made it clear to their party leaders that they cannot go out of way to help them and they should not force them to meet the people.
Pertinently, in the first stint of PDP-BJP rule in the State, BJP leaders from Kashmir were up in arms against their Ministers for not remaining accessible to masses and ignoring the party leaders from Kashmir.
" We failed to open our account in Kashmir in 2014 Assembly polls and couldn't even win a single seat despite party high command pumping crores of rupees. Most Kashmiri leaders provided wrong feedback to the party high command and made tall claims about party winning more than 44 seats in Jammu and Kashmir," said a senior BJP leader.
He said, "It's unfortunate that a few people from our party are making false promises to the people and are misleading them. We have come to know that a few leaders are intimidating the officials. We will ensure that such leaders are identified so that action can be taken against them. They neither have authority nor power to provide jobs, nor can they allot contracts to anyone."
