NIT Row: CCI-J to raise issue with DyCM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 12: expressing concerns over ongoing rift in NIT Srinagar over anti national sloganeering and police action against non local students, the Chamber of Commerce and industry (CCI) Jammu in an urgent meeting convened at the Chamber House today held threadbare deliberations and representatives from various Bazar, Trade, Transport and Industrial Associations gave their view point on ongoing NIT row. Speaking in this meeting, the President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Rakesh Gupta brought to the notice of all participating members about the steps taken towards getting justice for the nationalist students who had faced atrocities of the Police force inside the NIT Campus. Chamber President Mr Gupta expressed deep anguish that the demands put forth few days back, before the government through the media were not met with. The members unanimously decided that the Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh alongwith the local administration should be invited to Chamber House for an open discussion in presence of Media Persons where they will be asked to justify their action against the innocent students of NIT and why the demands of the Chamber to take action against the erring Police officers and administration involved in using excessive force inside the campus, besides permanent stationing of CRPF inside the NIT Campus were not accepted till date. |
