Vikas Gupta Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 14: Police headquarters (PHQ) is contemplating disciplinary action against 99 lower rung police officers for disobeying their transfer orders and refusing to join new places of posting. They included 17 Inspectors, 49 SIs and 33 ASIs. Their officers have been asked to explain reasons for not relieving them, according to police sources. "All of them are so well-connected that, using their links, they get their transfer orders cancelled and continue to hold their positions. They have been managing choice postings for them," sources said. "Transfer orders of these lower rung officers have been issued from time to time between 2011 and 2016, but, disobeying them, they continued holding their posts with the blessings of their bosses. This has affected police functioning," the sources added. "The PHQ has taken it seriously now and has almost made up its mind to initiate disciplinary action against them," sources informed. Sources said PHQ had issued directions to immediately relieve them so that disciplinary action was taken against them. "PHQ wants to teach them a lesson," the sources added. |
